Our experience

MEZ FRINTROP came into being as a result of the merger of the MEZ and FRINTROP Companies in 2002.
In this way, their two core capabilities - engineering and production in the metal processing field - were combined to form a highly efficient undertaking, offering 'everything from a single source'.

The origins of the Gönningen-based MEZ GmbH & Co. date back to 1875 with the founding of a plumbing business. In the mid-1960s, it was decided that MEZ would concentrate on ventilation systems.
Over the following three decades, MEZ evolved into one of the world's leading suppliers of ventilating and air duct connecting systems, with almost 200 patents to its name. At the beginning of the 1990s, the business expanded with the production of standard metal products and the takeover of the sheet metal processing division of the machine manufacturer Index. The first machine enclosures and metal components were produced in 1994.
In 1996, the management of the company passed to Dr. Bernd Mez, a member of the fifth generation to run the family business.

The company history of the Kornwestheim-based FRINTROP GmbH began in 1993 with the establishment of
AF Projektmanagement Albrecht & Frintrop GmbH. From a design office specialising in automotive engineering and machine and plant manufacture, it rapidly evolved to become a leading engineering services company, handling national and international projects. A variety of commissions, such as an enclosure for painting robots, the development of crane cabins and the design of steering columns for sports cars led to the establishment of specialised development teams.
